Wujcik, William R, age 73, US Army Veteran. Beloved husband to Constance nee Bernas. Adored dad of Peter Weiss and Wendy Weiss Southern. Loving Papa to grandchildren Billy, Sammy, Tommy, and Katie Weiss and Emerson and Quinn Southern. Beloved brother of Carol Cole, Susan Boyd, Paul Wujcik, Chris Collins, Barbara (Tom) O’Loughlin and Annette (Gary) Chilo. Deeply loved and mourned by many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, making his famous pancakes for them and going to all of their sporting events. Jan P. Berezniak, age 78, of Addison, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 after a long battle with dementia. He is survived by his five loving children (Scott, Katrina, James, Chris and Maria) and four grandchildren (Hannah, John, Elizabeth and Andrew). Jan was born in Chicago on January 22, 1939 the second of two children to John and Stephanie (Pianovski) Berezniak. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Claudette Hudik. After graduating from St. Rita High School, he attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and obtained a degree in business administration before embarking on a long and prosperous career in insurance and financial planning. A devout Catholic, Jan was a lecturer for decades and member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to exercise and dance having been active in the both the Chicago Walkers and Chicago Jitterbug Clubs, and a basketball coach for all five of his children. Jan will be remembered as a character, full of advice and his many sayings. Above all, he will be remembered as “Dad” and as a friend. Visitation for Jan will be held at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S. Catherine (Katie) Hides, age 88 passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017. Catherine was born May 4, 1929 to John and Veronica Smith.

Catherine was the beloved wife of the late John Hides for over 40 years. Catherine was the loving mother of John Hides, Fred Hides, Frank Hides, Kathleen (John) Mays, Cindy Hides, Marianne Boyle and Rocco Hides.
Catherine was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Catherine spent the last 49 years living in Des Plaines. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She thrived on helping others. She was a volunteer at St. Raymond’s Church Women’s Group. She will forever be missed by those who knew her and loved her.
