Lucia Antonia “Lucy” Miltz- (Nee Gartner) Age 81  passed away January 5, 2017 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Beloved wife for 59 years of Albert Miltz Sr. Loving mother of Elizabeth (John) Haase, Albert Jr. (Andrea), Linda (Dan) Bransky, Teresa (Eric) Race and Tony (Kim). Devoted grandmother of 16 Jim, Kristen (Fiance Sean), Ashley, Rachel, Jessica, Blake, Paige, Madison, Sydney, Brooke, Ava, Lyla, Hana, Rune, Nola, and Bode. Lucy was the only child of the late John and Josephine Gartner. She graduated from Waller High School, Chicago in 1953. Lucy was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, actively volunteered at Zion Lutheran School, leader for the Camp Fire Girl Organization and a 25 year secretary of United Way. She treasured the time spent at the family cottage in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Summers there with her husband,children and grandchildren was truly a highlight of her life. She most enjoyed bon fires, smores, county fairs, long walks in Lake Geneva and endless laughing sessions in the evening. Ruth was born May 28, 1924 in Maple Lake, MN to Eleanor (Nee Zander and Adolph Nehrkorn. Van Eman Wells

March 21, 1934 – December 10, 2016

Van Eman Wells – Born March 21, 1934 in Cantril, Iowa to the late Harold and Josephine Wells, he passed away December 10, 2016. He grew up in Cantril and graduated from the University of Iowa. He married Barbara Thomas Wells (deceased) on December 26, 1958 and they established residence in the Chicagoland area. They had two children Rebecca (Neil, deceased) Nicholson and Bill (Mary) Wells.

Van worked his entire career for Arthur Andersen Accounting Firm where he became partner in the Retail Division. He was also active in the University of Iowa Alumni Association and enjoyed attending many Hawkeyes sporting events. In his spare time, he was a member of the Mental Health Board and a youth leader within the church. His job relocated him and Barbara to California in the early 1980’s where they became active in the Square Dance community.

Barbara and Van’s focus changed to traveling, which became their passion, after his retirement in 1989. They traveled in a motor home throughout the United States for 25 years. They also traveled to Africa, South America, and Antarctica and lived life to the fullest without any regrets.

He is survived by his two children Bill (Mary) and Rebecca Nicholson; four grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Anna Wells and Colin Nicholson; and his brother, Robert (Marion) Wells. In addition, Van is leaving behind countless friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 3 P.M. at The Presbyterian Church of Palatine, 800 W. Palatine Road, Palatine IL, 60071. Interment will be Private. Elvira Guzman (nee Garcia) of Bensenville, IL passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 19, 2016.

Daughter of Julian and Virginia Garcia, Elvira, was born in Bensenville on February 3rd, 1929.  She graduated from Fenton High school.  She was a loving wife and loving mother of ten children; she married Ricardo Guzman on December 10, 1950.  She worked at American Airlines Sky Chefs for 22 years while raising her family.  She was involved in many civic organizations including: Saint Alexis Parish, VFW, Lioness Club, Sodality.

Elvira is preceded in death by her husband Ricardo, her daughter Julia Grunkemeyer, her siblings Arthur, George, Susie (Martyniuk) and Nina (Behning) Garcia.

Elvira is survived by her children Rick (Tammy) their children Dominic, Jonathan and Megan, John (Jill) their children Candice (Andrew) Boulton, Kyle (Brittney) and great granddaughter Kennedy; Kerry Grunkemeyer and children Lennon, Myles, Maggie (Brandon) Crawford and great granddaughter Hazel; George (Cecilia) their children Carlos and Monica; Mary Ann and her daughter Ellegra; Joe (Diane) their children Michelle, Alex and Marissa; Dan (Maria) their children Daniel and Roman, Mark; Margie (Tom) Lustyk their children Max and Gabrielle Ruby; Gabriel (Jill) their children Danielle and Madeline. Elvira is also survived by her sister Emily (Dan) Crews and her family.
