Elvira Guzman (nee Garcia) of Bensenville, IL passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Daughter of Julian and Virginia Garcia, Elvira, was born in Bensenville on February 3rd, 1929. She graduated from Fenton High school. She was a loving wife and loving mother of ten children; she married Ricardo Guzman on December 10, 1950. She worked at American Airlines Sky Chefs for 22 years while raising her family. She was involved in many civic organizations including: Saint Alexis Parish, VFW, Lioness Club, Sodality.
Elvira is preceded in death by her husband Ricardo, her daughter Julia Grunkemeyer, her siblings Arthur, George, Susie (Martyniuk) and Nina (Behning) Garcia.
Elvira is survived by her children Rick (Tammy) their children Dominic, Jonathan and Megan, John (Jill) their children Candice (Andrew) Boulton, Kyle (Brittney) and great granddaughter Kennedy; Kerry Grunkemeyer and children Lennon, Myles, Maggie (Brandon) Crawford and great granddaughter Hazel; George (Cecilia) their children Carlos and Monica; Mary Ann and her daughter Ellegra; Joe (Diane) their children Michelle, Alex and Marissa; Dan (Maria) their children Daniel and Roman, Mark; Margie (Tom) Lustyk their children Max and Gabrielle Ruby; Gabriel (Jill) their children Danielle and Madeline. Elvira is also survived by her sister Emily (Dan) Crews and her family.

Lowell Roscoe “Jack” Overstreet, Jr. was born June 2, 1933 in Johnson County, Illinois to Lowell Roscoe Overstreet, Sr. and Thelma (nee Bradley). Dear brother of Bill Overstreet and Marylou White. When young lived in Johnson County, Goreville, Illinois and Geneva, Illinois. Went to High School in Marion, IL and graduated from Marion Township High School in 1951. After High School worked as an apprentice sheet metal worker and received a Journeyman Sheet Metal Card from Jones Heating and Ventilating in Marion, IL. Was drafted April 9, 1953 into the U.S. Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division, 147th Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit. Was discharged from the U.S. Army on April 9, 1955. After being discharged from the military moved to Bensenville, IL. Worked as a Union Carpenter on heavy construction jobs in Cook, Lake and Du Page Counties for 27 years. In 1982 went to work for Martha Washington Hospital, Chicago, in the Maintenance Department. While working at Martha Washington Hospital earned a Certified Locksmith Degree from Triton College. In 1992 went to work for Holy Family Hospital, Des Plaines, IL, in the Maintenance Department and while working there earned an Employee of the Quarter award. Met Joan Semper on a blind date after being discharged from the Army in 1955, they were married a year later at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bensenville, IL. Jack and Joan have 4 children: Son Roy Overstreet, married to Sara (Murto), and daughters Karen, married to Tom Rhinerson, Lori, married to Pete Kennedy and Mary, married to Dave Jacobsen. 7 grandchildren: Dustin, Jamie, Marla, Dawn, Gary, Shea and Riley. 4 Step grandchildren: Erin, Zack, Josh and Noah. 5 great grandchildren: Lucas, Kali, Lexi, Vanna and Ryan. Jack was extremely proud of his children and family and loved them all very much. Has lived in Bensenville since 1955. Member of formally Peace United Church of Christ and presently Faith Community United Church of Christ since 1961. Served on the Church Council 12 years during that time, helping on the Building and Grounds Committee. Worked on the church door lock and key system for many years. Volunteered with Bensenville and Wood Dale Food Pantries, driving his personal truck to pick up from the Norther Illinois Food Bank and other locations for many years. 60 year member of the Bensenville Masonic Lodge #1159 A.F. & A.M. Since 1956.
He was a Jack-Of-All-Trades who could build, create and repair anything.
