Cpl. Shayan Eftekhar, born July 16th, 1995 in Elmhurst, died on October 18th, 2016 as a result of a vehicle accident in San Diego, CA. He is survived by his parents Ruth Morales and Kamyar Eftekhar; his siblings Martin, Cecilia, and Adrian Mayorga; and his niece Sophia Martha Mayorga. Shayan was an energetic,imaginative and joyful soul that always brought us happiness and laughter. He was a dedicated person; whether with his Infiniti G35, video games, friends, family or a becoming a Marine, he was always there. He made a difference in the lives of everyone he came across. Shayan never ceased to amaze. He was a dedicated, aspiring Marine.
Scott Alan Berger, 60, of Shorewood, IL and formerly of Waterloo and Denver, IA passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born on December 6, 1955 to Dallas and Patricia Berger. He graduated from Denver High School in 1974. As a young man he was an Eagle Scout and often told stories of his outdoor adventures with the scouts. He worked as a Cement Mason and later an Operator Engineer in the Chicago area; retiring in 2011. Scott enjoyed spending time with family, especially with his two grandsons, playing golf, traveling, landscaping (he had a green thumb), and playing with his dog, Dino.
Beloved husband of Lois (Collins); loving father of Alex (Naoko) Berger of Schaumburg, IL; Alicia Berger (fiancé Andrew Ogg) of San Diego, CA; devoted son of Dallas Berger of Denver, IA; dear brother of Susan Aegerter of Shorewood, IL; and Ted (Sonja) Berger of Morris, IL; adored papa of August and Max Berger of Schaumburg IL; fun-loving brother-in-law of Arlene (Gregg) Humble of Cedar Falls, IA; Cathy (Allan) Boeckenheuer and Jane (John) Frana of Calmar, IA; uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Engel) on October 10, 2016. His grandparents, Walter and Dorothy (Simon) Engel and Louis and Myrtle( Schuler) Berger. His father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Madonna (Lansing) Collins.

George W. Wagner, age 90, lifelong resident of Bensenville and member of St. Alexis Parish since its inception, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 30. George enjoyed traveling with his wife, visiting all 50 States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Central America.
George was born in Bensenville to the late Leonard and Florence (nee Meier) and survived by sister, Glenda Vuglar. Preceded in death by siblings Eugene Wagner, Drusilla Kiefer and Audrey Wagner, MD. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
